In
Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a form of Assisted Reproductive Technology
(ART) involving: stimulation of a woman's egg production by
hormones or oral medications; extraction of multiple eggs at
the optimal time (using ultrasound-guided equipment or a tiny abdominal
incision); fertilization of the eggs by sperm in a laboratory ; and
implantation of the fertilized eggs (embryos) into the woman's uterus.
